Brianna Westbrook's life has been a testament to perseverance and hard work. Despite growing up in poverty and witnessing substance abuse and domestic violence, she never gave up on herself. Her great-grandparents took her in and taught her the value of hard work in their apple orchard, and Brianna graduated from high school with no parental support as a teenager.
As a young parent, Brianna returned to Arizona to provide for her siblings, working blue-collar jobs to keep her family afloat. In 2013, she testified in front of the Phoenix city council to support LGBTQ+ protections in housing and ran for Arizona's 8th Congressional District in 2018 as a Justice Democrat-endorsed candidate, winning 40% of the vote with just 10% of her opponent's funds. Since then, she has been tirelessly fighting for her community's needs as she works with local and national progressive organizations.
Brianna's leadership skills and passion have been recognized by the Arizona Democratic Party, which reelected her as Vice-Chair in 2023. She served as a national surrogate for Senator Bernie Sanders's presidential campaign and worked to turn out Arizona's eleven electoral votes for President Joe Biden.
Furthermore, Brianna is an accomplished technology consultant who supports services and tools that help small businesses. In response to the housing crisis, she also co-founded a non-profit advocating for safe, affordable, and accessible housing. Her work has been instrumental in creating more transparency and accountability within the political system, and she continues to fight on behalf of all Arizonans.
